Can You Have Cosmetic Procedures Done on the Day of an Event?

There are special events that we plan for months and weeks ahead of time—think weddings and reunions. You search for the perfect dress and matching accessories, schedule a manicure, and experiment with different hairstyles until you find the one that works best.

There are also the occasions where you do not have the time you need to prepare everything as you may have wanted, such as a last-minute invitation or an event that you have seem to have forgotten about. Fortunately, there are many ways in which your cosmetic surgeon can help you achieve a picture perfect appearance without a lot of time.

At Medical Face and Body Aesthetics, Dave David M.D. and his expert staff are dedicated to helping patients in Massachusetts and throughout New England feel good about the way they look. When it comes to getting the results you are after, Dr. David explains that it does not have as much to do with the time constraints you may be facing as it has to do with the areas of your face that you are most worried about.

If you’re concerned with any lines and wrinkles that you have started to notice, then you may benefit from a Botox or filler treatment, or perhaps even both. For wrinkles in the upper portion of your face, such as around your eyes, you may need a Botox treatment, Dr. David explains.

Generally, Botox takes two or three days to start working, but can take up to as much as 10 days in some cases. Therefore, Dr. David, an experienced Boston Botox surgeon, suggests scheduling an appointment at least 10 days in advance of your event, when possible.

Fillers, on the other hand–which focus on the lower portion of the face by adding volume to the lines around your nose, mouth, and chin–offer instant results. If needed, you can have fillers done the morning of your event, though most professionals would recommend a day of “skin rest”  in the treated area in order to let any redness or possible mild swelling subside.

There are also other skin treatments available, such as peels and exfoliations, that refresh your skin and leave you with a glowing, hydrated appearance that your friends and family are sure to notice. Through discussions with your trusted cosmetic surgeon, it is entirely possible to create a treatment plan that fits into your schedule and meets your expectations. The first step, however, is picking up the phone and scheduling an appointment with Medical Face and Body Aesthetics or a facility in your area.
