It’s crucial that your surgeons are capable of assessing your body’s aesthetics and characteristics in order to produce the most natural-looking results possible.

The discipline of cosmetic surgery is exclusively devoted to maintaining, restoring, or enhancing a person’s normal appearance. With these goals in mind, it’s crucial that your cosmetic surgeons are capable of assessing your body’s aesthetics and characteristics in order to produce the most natural-looking results possible. At Southern Surgical Arts in Chattanooga, breast augmentation and lifts and other cosmetic breast surgeries are done with artistry and technique to create a fuller, natural and youthful appearing breast.

Implementing laser technology in cosmetic breast surgery

Using up-to-date surgical techniques in breast lifting procedures, the Chattanooga surgeons are able to create more lift and natural results . As one of the few surgeons offering the cutting-edge Staple Shape technique in the United States, Dr. Carey Nease and Dr. Chad Deal actively instruct other surgeons across the country in the use of this breast lifting procedure.

There are many reasons for seeking a surgeon in Chattanooga for a breast lift. A patient may feel that their breasts are droopy to the extent that they’re self-conscious.

The doctors at Southern Surgical Arts also make use of laser technology for a wide range of procedures; from addressing wrinkles, skin pigmentation, hair removal, acne scars, tattoo removal, or facial lifts, the Chattanooga cosmetic surgeons have a handful of ways to make their patients feel and look years younger. Laser technology can be used to supplement traditional face lift techniques or used as an incision-free alternative. Sometimes laser face lifts are a better choice than surgery, and can help patients look 5 to 10 years younger with no scars and a short recovery time.

As a part of the practice’s “Cosmetic Facelift” done with fat transfer and excess skin removal, lasers can make patients look 15 to 20 years younger and achieve a natural look that traditional plastic face lifts cannot. Laser technology has given patients options in both minimally-invasive treatments and advanced face lifts with natural and long lasting results.

Extensive and focused training in the field

There is a difference between plastic and reconstructive surgeons and cosmetic surgeons. Board-certified cosmetic surgeons must do five times as many cosmetic surgeries than plastic surgeons; in their plastic surgery residencies or fellowships, they’re only required to perform 55 cosmetic surgeries.

According to survey data from a plastic and reconstructive surgery journal, more than 36 percent of graduating plastic surgeons felt they needed additional cosmetic surgery training. In contrast, a cosmetic surgeon will typically perform more than 700 procedures during their fellowship training.

Dr. Carey Nease and Dr. Chad Deal remain focused on cosmetic surgery; they do nothing else but cosmetic surgeries and instruct others in their industry-leading techniques. In the past 7 years, they have performed more than 7,000 cosmetic surgery procedures. For natural and youthful results from knowledgeable and progressive surgeons, contact Southern Surgical Arts at 423-266-3331 or at www.southernsurgicalarts.com.

With a facial rejuvenation plan, the surgeons will recommend your surgical and non-surgical choices to help you appear more healthy and youthful.

The board-certified cosmetic surgeons at Southern Surgical Arts pursue the latest laser technology to minimize recovery time, scarring and produce optimal results at their practice in Chattanooga. Face lift and facial rejuvenation techniques with the artistic cosmetic surgery skill and produce more natural and youthful results. With over ten years and 3,600 significant facial cosmetic surgical procedures, Dr. Carey Nease and Dr. Chad Deal offer not only extensive experience; they’ve stayed on the cutting edge by employing the latest techniques and technology.

Achieving facial rejuvenation

With a facial rejuvenation plan, the surgeons will recommend your surgical and non-surgical choices to help you appear more healthy and youthful. Taking into account your aesthetic features of your entire face and neck, you might be recommended for eyelid surgery, brow or forehead lifts, laser skin resurfacing or a combination of other procedures to help you achieve your goals. The Chattanooga face lift surgeons might even recommend “no-incision” laser face lifts; as Dr. Chad Deal of Southern Surgical Arts explains, sometimes laser is a better choice than surgery.

Benefits of laser-assisted surgery

Compared to the traditional “plastic” face lift, the Chattanooga surgeons’ cosmetic laser-lift procedures produce a number of advantages. The technique achieves a more natural, youthful aesthetic look; as opposed to a “pulled” or plastic look that used to be an ideal. The procedure itself is faster; lasting only one to two hours and requiring only IV sedation and local anesthesia, general anesthesia isn’t necessary for the surgery. Since there are no scars with laser-lifts, clients can wear their hair up or short without exposing noticeable incisions. In addition, laser face lift surgery comes with a quicker recovery time of five to seven days and better, long-lasting results. The traditional plastic face lift patient in the past had to carefully hide scars with long hair and experienced a recovery of 6-8 weeks. Repeated procedures typically won’t be necessary for at least 5 to 10 years.

What surgery alone can’t accomplish

Laser technology is a great complement to the knife; but in some cases it may be ideal to opt for an incision-free cosmetic surgery by having a Laser Facelift, developed by Dr. Nease. Patients can expect to look five to ten years younger with this procedure without scars and a short recovery time. The procedure combines laser skin resurfacing, fat transfer, Smart Lipo, and the use of Botox and fillers. Dr. Nease performed a clinical study using this technique, presenting his findings at the annual conference of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in January 2011. Most of the participants reported that they were “highly satisfied” with the results.

With over ten lasers to the latest technology & artistic skill of cosmetic surgery, trust the board-certified cosmetic surgeons at Chattanooga’s Southern Surgical Arts.

At some point it was desirable to look like you had plastic surgery. As you might be able to guess, the opposite is true now.

Cosmetic surgery is more than just a science and a steady hand; every patient is different, and the surgeon must have an artistic eye to work with a person’s existing features to create a natural looking result. At Southern Surgical Arts in Chattanooga, their board-certified cosmetic surgeons bring a natural artistry to their craft to ultimately achieve results that look like the person they’re operating on. As Dr. Carey Nease explains it, clients tell them that “I still want to look like me—just younger.”

This quality is more important now than ever. At some point, Dr. Nease explains, it was desirable to look like you had plastic surgery. As you might be able to guess, the opposite is true now.

Achieving a natural look

Chattanooga cosmetic surgeon Dr. Carey Nease, explains that advancements in techniques and technology have provided the tools to produce more natural results with smaller scars and a faster recovery. One major discovery was that, with aging, there is more deflation as opposed to drooping of skin. Prior to this realization, surgeons were trained to pull skin and remove fat from the face; thus producing tight, “plastic” looks that produced an unnatural, wind-tunnel pulled look for the face lift patient. By instead using fat transfer and volume addition, along with skin rejuvenation lasers, the Chattanooga cosmetic surgeons are able to achieve outstanding results by carefully preserving their patients’ overall look; all while bringing out their beauty and youth from years past.

Both Dr. Nease and Dr. Chad Deal have a high level of skill and technical knowledge to produce outstanding results; they are triple and double board-certified, respectively. However, it’s their pursuit of excellent customer service and satisfaction that makes Southern Surgical Arts a premier cosmetic surgery practice and an industry leader.

Building a relationship of trust

The staff members at Southern Surgical Arts are always communicating and listening to the hopes and concerns of their patients at every stage of the process. Giving clients as much information as possible is a major priority; for instance, they’re upfront about the costs of the total procedure as opposed to other facilities which may only quote their surgeon’s fees to make the deal seem more enticing. They also help patients know what results they can expect to receive and are very transparent about their work; all models that appear on their website are clients of Southern Surgical Arts, and the before and after photographs are not retouched in Photoshop—a claim many cosmetic surgeons cannot make themselves.

The skill and professionalism of Dr. Nease and Dr. Chad Deal has earned the Chattanooga cosmetic surgeons wide recognition; both were voted among the nation’s top plastic and cosmetic surgeons for 2011 and Best of the Best Cosmetic Surgeon and practice since 2009 in the Chattanooga area.

Dr. Benedetto specializes in a wide variety of body-sculpting treatments using laser liposuction at his Philadelphia, PA medical practice.

Looking to enhance your self-image by losing those trouble-spots of excess fat? Consider visiting Dr. Benedetto of the Dermatologic Surgicenter in Philadelphia, PA. As a board-certified cosmetic dermatological surgeon, Dr. Benedetto specializes in a wide variety of body-sculpting treatments using laser liposuction at his Philadelphia, PA medical practice.

“If our patients are looking to lose weight and cannot remove any of those localized sections of fat with exercise, we can successfully remove this fat from patients in Philadelphia, PA with laser liposuction,” says Benedetto. “We do body sculpting, we do facial sculpting…we do it all.”

Laser liposuction is a combination of the traditional liposuction, and a touch-up with a laser to remove the last remaining zones of resistant, concentrated fat. First, Dr. Benedetto will attempt to remove excess fat through suctioning alone. Often times, however, there is resistance due to scar tissue or adhesions. The laser liposuction in Philadelphia, PA compensates for this by using a laser to heat up and melt the excess fat, helping to eliminate some of the more resistant areas that are difficult to remove with plain liposuction.

For example, areas like the flanks in women or men’s pectoral region are common trouble spots for people trying to lose excess weight. These areas are traditionally characteristic of very fibrous tissue mixed in with the fat that makes it very difficult to for the fat to be extracted. “The laser is able to break all that up,” explains Benedetto. “It makes it easier to suction out the fat by breaking up the fat from the fibrous tissue.”

But even if you started the procedure by melting the fat, you still have to remove it in some way, says Benedetto. This is where the regular liposuction comes in. So basically, laser liposuction is both a combination of sucking out the fat and melting the fat.

“Lasers just produce heat, no matter where you’re treating on the body, or what you’re treating on the body,” explains Benedetto. The light from the laser gets converted into heat. The laser will either melt fat, melt the surface of the skin, melt blood vessels, or burn brown spots on the surface of the skin. So, when you’re getting laser liposuction in Philadelphia, PA at your local Dermatologic Surgicenter, it’s adjusted so it just melts away the excess fat. But the body cannot tolerate storing liquid fat, and therefore needs to have it removed quickly and efficiently. Therefore, Dr. Benedetto uses the joint technique of laser liposuction and liposuction to solve the problem.

Dr. Benedetto cares for a wide variety of skin cancer patients with a technique he considers “absolutely essential.”

Imagine living on a warm, sunny island—perhaps Hawaii, Fiji, or the Virgin Islands. Although this might sound enticing, there would be trade offs for residing in a tropical paradise. On the plus side, the beautiful weather year-round would allow for minimal stress during the winter months. But on the downside, the abundance of sunshine could lead to an over-exposure of harmful UV rays and increased risk of developing skin cancer.

For those seeking treatment for skin cancer, it important to seek out the appropriate treatment by a professional dermatologist. Dr. Benedetto, a board-certified cosmetic dermatological surgeon and dermatologist at the Philadelphia, PA Dermatologic Surgicenter cares for a wide variety of skin cancer patients with a technique he considers “absolutely essential.”

The technique, called the MOHS procedure, is consistently used by the Philadelphia, PA dermatologist. Developed by Dr. Frederic Mohs in the 1930’s, the MOHS procedure is a microscopically controlled surgery that works by removing the skin cancer, and examining the damaged tissue itself. The technique is known to have a very narrow surgical margin, and a high cure rate.

“We remove the tissue, and we look at the entire undersurface of the tissue ourselves,” explains Dr. Benedetto. “Our dermatologic surgeon is also the dermatologic pathologist—so the person who removes the tissue looks at the specimen under the microscope in order to determine whether there is any skin cancer left or not.” By having this specific procedure performed, Dr. Benedetto and his fellow team of dermatologists at the Philadelphia, PA Dermatologic Surgicenter can ensure patients reach a full recovery from their skin cancer. “We have a better understanding, a better feel for what the patient has, the kind of tumor that they have, and we’re best able to remove it completely.”

The MOHS technique is a very conservative technique used by the Philadelphia, PA dermatologist. When examining skin cancer in a patient, Dr. Benedetto uses a microscope to guide and direct him to where the tumor is growing. He excises involved tissue and tumorous tissue, and makes sure to not leave any involved tissue alone. Therefore, the surgical wound from the treatment is minimal compared to what other surgeons will do when they remove skin cancer. “Other surgeons take safety margins, which is an excessive amount of tissue so that they hope they get all the tissue out. By using the MOHS technique, we don’t hope—we know when we get it all out.”

Now in it’s 2nd edition, “The Botox Book” is the most well-known book on Botulinum Toxin in clinical dermatology.

If you wanted to learn a bit about Botox online, you might try a search in Google, then go on Wikipedia and look for articles on Botox. But why not just ask the real expert; the guy who wrote the textbook on Botox treatment?

Dr. Benedetto, a board-certified cosmetic dermatological surgeon, has been performing Botox treatment in Philadelphia, PA since 1978 when he opened his first medical practice. Through his invaluable experience, he decided to share his acquired knowledge by writing a textbook for other practicing medical professionals on how to inject Botox. Now in it’s 2nd edition, “The Botox Book” is the most well-known book on Botulinum Toxin in clinical dermatology.

Covering a large practicum of his Philadelphia, PA Botox treatment principles and practices, Dr. Benedetto eludes to a new type of Botulinum Toxin used in Germany that might soon be giving Botox “a run for its money.” This new member on the market, which might soon be offered in conjunction or as an alternative to standard Botox treatment in Philadelphia, PA is called Xeomin.

The major difference between Xeomin and Botox, says Dr. Benedetto is that Xeomin does not include an outer coating of protein. The nickname for Xeomin is a “naked protein,” because it doesn’t have the outer shell for added protection, like Botox. When Xeomin is injected, it should begin it’s effects immediately. Botox, on the other hand, when injected, has an outer shell that needs to be broken down before it reaches the muscles.

Studies have shown, however, that even within a few microseconds after Botox has been injected, it loses it’s protective coating, anyway. Scientists in this particular company started questioning why they should even have to manufacture a Botulinum Toxin with these protective, complex proteins. So they came up with the idea of this naked, non-complex, unprotected protein called Xeomin that works “just as well as our regular Botox treatment in Philadelphia, PA,” says Benedetto.

Although they’re different, Xeomin and Botox share a similar botulinum toxin type, being type A. Type A is the most widely-used, and considered to be less intrusive and artificial than other types of plastic surgery. The 7 neurotoxic types of botulinum toxin, types A, B, C1, D, E, F, and G have different forms and functions. Type-A works is used specifically in cosmetic practices to prevent the development of wrinkles by paralyzing facial muscles.

When it comes to laser liposuction, the experts agree that the type of equipment being used is not nearly as important in determining the outcome of the procedure as the skill of the practitioner. In Chicago, cosmetic surgery expert Dr. David Turok of David Turok MD Cosmetic Surgery recommends that patients do their research before selecting a surgeon to perform their laser liposuction procedures.

Part of doing this research is knowing the right things to ask. Dr. Turok advises people to ask their friend, family members, and colleagues for personal recommendations. If that doesn’t turn up anyone good, then he recommends contacting a few offices to find someone who specializes in this type of cosmetic surgery in Chicago.

Once a patient has narrowed down the choices, Dr. Turok recommends meeting the surgeon in person and asking some pointed questions to find out how much experience he has in laser liposuction, specifically, and how long the person has been performing this procedure for. Ideally, the surgeon performing laser liposuction should have plenty of experience in this arena, and he should have a roster of previous clients who would be willing to share their stories.

Dr. Turok believes it is important for patients to find out what their physicians’ credentials are and to specifically ask whether they have trained in laser liposuction. It is also smart to find out whether the Chicago cosmetic surgery expert has hospital privileges at any facilities nearby.

The next question that Dr. Turok recommends people ask when they visit a cosmetic surgery center in Chicago is whether they can see any actual before and after photos of a surgeon’s own patients. Patients should also find out if they can speak to any of the surgeon’s past patients by phone.

Physicians practicing in many different cosmetic surgery specialties in Chicago do laser liposuction procedures, including dermatology, plastic surgery, and general surgery, among others. In fact, Dr. Turok says that liposuction is a procedure that was actually invented by a gynecologist and a general surgeon, brought to the United States by an ear nose and throat facial plastic surgeon, and perfected by a dermatologist. The name ‘liposuction’ was coined by a facial plastic surgeon, as well, so there is no one specialty that has full claim to this procedure. Lots of different specialties have had a hand in developing the practices surgeons use today, which is why finding someone to perform liposuction is more about finding a professional who is experienced and gets good results than finding someone who practices in a certain specialty.

Botox is a botulinum toxin being used to erase fine lines and wrinkles for men and women across the globe. However, Dr. David Turok of David Turok MD Cosmetic Surgery cautions that Botox is not a cure all for every cosmetic complaint. As of right now there are four types of botulinum toxin that are commercially available in the United States – three of which have an indication for cosmetic use. The three types of botulinum toxins are Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.

Of the three, Botox has been out the longest and it is the product most people know by name. Dysport, which is from England, has been out for just a few years. The most recent entrant into the market is Xeomin, which has been used in Germany for years but only recently received FDA approval in the U.S. In Chicago, Botox is a product that Dr. Turok has been using since it was still an experimental drug back in 1985. At that time, physicians had to get approval to use the drug, as it was for medical purposes as well as cosmetic.

Most studies seem to show that Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are fairly equal in how they are used, how long they last, and how much they spread. Although each company is trying to claim superiority, Dr. Turok believes Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all good products for men and women with a number of cosmetic complaints.

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all approved for treatment of the glabellar lines, which are the vertical frown lines between the eyes. Sometimes the glabellar lines encompass horizontal frown lines between the eyes, as well. However, Dr. Turok explains that most physicians use botulinum toxin in an off-label fashion, which is okay by the FDA.

At his practice in Chicago, Botox is used to treat horizontal forehead lines, worry lines, crow’s feet, smile lines, and bunny lines, which are the lines that develop around the sides of the nose when people smile or scrunch up their faces. Botulinum toxins can also be helpful in reducing smokers lines, which are the vertical lines around the lips. Dr. Turok says non-smokers can sometimes get these lines, as well, if they drink out of straws too frequently.

In Chicago, Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all being used to help relax tightened tendons in the neck, raise the corners of the mouth a tiny bit, and even help people who grind their teeth at night. To find out if Botox could help you, Dr. Turok recommends contacting his office and scheduling an appointment.

Dr. Goshtasby’s preferred method is placing the implants under the muscles; this ensures a more natural feel and appearance, especially in lean and athletic clients.

Breast augmentation is the most commonly performed procedure in the U.S., with almost 300,000 cases last year alone. Naturally, this staggering number of surgeries means there are a lot of people performing them. If you’re considering breast augmentation in Newport Beach, don’t settle on just anyone; find a surgeon that’s on the cutting edge, has the proper experience and training, and who will take the time to walk you through the procedure. Katina Goshtasby of Newport Plastic Surgery explains how they operate, and what patients can expect from the operation.

Katina’s husband, Newport Beach Plastic Surgeon Dr. Parviz Hiroshi Goshtasby, has performed over 200 breast augmentation surgeries in both academic and cosmetic settings. Depending on the patient, some of these procedures have been more complicated. After performing several procedures, Dr. Goshtasby’s preferred method is placing the implants under the muscles; this ensures a more natural feel and appearance, especially in lean and athletic clients. When placed above the muscles, implants appear more artificial.

Silicone is the implant of choice for Newport Beach breast augmentation. More popular than the saline alternative, they’re less prone to rippling and better-emulate the feel of a natural breast. In addition, the FDA has cleared up the controversy about safety concerns with silicone implants, which are now considered to be as safe and effective as saline.

Katina explains patients can expect minimal pain and discomfort from the procedure during their one week of recovery. Any pain experiences can easily be remedied with prescription pain medications. Patients are monitored very closely, she adds, and most patients can expect to have their follow-up appointment the next day at the office in Newport Beach. Breast augmentation clients will schedule follow-ups before Dr. Goshtasby begins the operation.

There are many benefits to getting breast implants. Particularly for women that have been devastated by cancer, the operation can help build self-esteem and make them feel “womanly.” Katina explains that the strong association between fertility, womanhood, and breasts makes breast augmentation a significant part of the cancer recovery process for many women. Additionally, breast implants and other procedures can help restore women to pre-pregnancy form.

Katina adds that many patients feel the pressure and high expectations to keep their bodies in top form. In the warm weather of Southern California where you can be on the beach 10 months out of the year, people’s bodies are simply much more exposed.

It’s important to know that there is a key distinction between a doctor that is trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery and a cosmetic surgeon.

When deciding on a Newport Beach plastic surgeon, there are important variables to consider. Katina Goshtasby of Newport Plastic Surgery explains what clients should know when choosing a plastic surgeon.

Having the right qualifications

There is a key distinction between a doctor trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and a cosmetic surgeon. A cosmetic surgeon is able to perform operations with the intent of enhancing someone’s appearance, while plastic surgery is dedicated to addressing more reconstructive procedures such as birth defects, disease and trauma. A Newport Beach plastic surgeon works exclusively in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery, which includes cosmetic surgery. A cosmetic surgeon, on the other hand, might be a doctor in any number of fields like dermatology, gynecology, or ophthalmology.

Katina’s husband, Dr. Perviz Hiroshi Goshtasby, is a board certified Newport Beach plastic surgeon specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery. With extensive education and training in both academic and cosmetic settings, Dr. Goshtasby has the qualifications beyond that of a cosmetic surgeon. In addition, plastic surgeons are able to take on more challenging cases and minimize the risk of problems from surgery. “The best insurance against complications is a qualified surgeon,” says Katina.

Being informed

It’s important for your surgeon to value patient education, and it’s a good sign if they’re taking the time to carefully explain everything and answer your questions. Before you get on the operating table, you should be made aware of everything that’s coming; understanding the after-care and healing process is important, as well as what to avoid (such as specific medications) to ensure that you don’t experience complications. A Newport Beach plastic surgeon that isn’t rushing the client through the process indicates a great attention to detail.

Getting the best result possible

Cosmetic surgeons are generally able to do breast augmentations and other surgeries without major problems. Without government regulations, someone with little training is not restricted from operating on patients. However, a board certified plastic surgeon will be well-versed in the newest, most sophisticated techniques, and often will able to handle more difficult cases. Before making the decision to enhance your appearance, ensure that you’re getting outstanding care with a Newport Beach plastic surgeon.
