A Hermiston plastic surgeon can offer many surgical and non-surgical techniques for all patients who wants to look and feel their best.

The adage, “looks aren’t everything,” holds a lot of truth, and people shouldn’t wrap up their happiness in outer appearances. However, age, heredity, and the environment may make us a little uncomfortable about the way we look. Sometimes a little alteration to make us feel better can change our lives for the better. If you’ve ever thought about seeing a Hermiston plastic surgeon, here are a few things to consider.

What should I look for in a plastic surgeon?
Dr. Richard Flaiz, of E.N.T. Facial Plastic and Laser Center, says one important quality to look for is the Hermiston plastic surgeon’s qualifications. Is the doctor board certified in the area where the procedure will be performed? How much experience doing the type of surgery you’re looking for does she or he have? Another thing is to feel comfortable with the person you choose.

What kind of results can I expect?
Dr. Flaiz says that for many of his Rhinoplasty (surgically changing the appearance of the outside of the nose) patients, it can be life-changing. Before undertaking any surgical procedure, he offers a free consultation with his patients to discuss what their motivations are and their expectations to ensure that they are realistic. “It’s important to know what can and cannot be done.” For patients wanting a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), a Hermiston plastic surgeon can takes years off their appearance. But, the surgery cannot make a sixty-year-old eye look like a twenty-year-old one.

Is surgery the only method for improving my appearance?
The trend in facial plastic surgery, according to Dr. Flaiz, is toward less, rather than more, surgery, and this also applies to face lifts. There are many non-surgical procedures patients can opt for. When a person’s face starts to droop, this is due to volume loss. Many Hermiston plastic surgeons, Dr. Flaiz included, can offer patients derma fillers which are injections used to replace volume. Other skin improving methods Dr. Flaiz offers include microdermabrasion and fractional laser resurfacing that can minimize scars, brown spots, and blood vessels.

Having a healthy self-image is important. Sometimes, looking better can lead to feeling better, but this is not always possible to do without a little help. Before making any decisions about altering your appearance, consult a Hermiston plastic surgeon.

For more information about his services and what your options are, you can contact Dr. Flaiz at E.N.T. Facial Plastic and Laser Center.

If you or your child is experiencing difficulties, you can contact Dr. Flaiz for an appointment.

Some of the first signs of aging appear around the eyes and across the forehead.

Some of the first signs of aging appear around the eyes and across the forehead. Is BOTOX the solution to your fine lines and wrinkles?

According to Robbi Boyer of Xage Medical Spa, a Provo BOTOX provider, BOTOX can be a great way to smooth fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful look. But where you go matters, and it’s important to choose a provider with the skill and experience to achieve a beautiful, natural look. At Xage Medical Spa in Provo, BOTOX is administered by a board-certified physician with extensive training and years of experience in anti-aging medicine and cosmetic medical procedures. This ensures the best possible results and the very highest level of safety.

BOTOX Basics

There’s a reason BOTOX is one of the most commonly administered cosmetic procedures in the world: it works. This injectable gel relaxes targeted muscles directly beneath the skin’s surface, smoothing lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements.

BOTOX is most commonly on the upper one-third of the face: to smooth frown creases between the eyes, reduce the appearance of crows’ feet and erase forehead lines; and it offers many advantages. It’s non-surgical, minimally invasive, extremely safe, and involves virtually no downtime. The effects are quite long lasting – usually about four to five months. And your results appear gradually over the course of two to 10 days after your treatment.

BOTOX vs. Fillers

While BOTOX can produce excellent results in the upper portions of the face, it isn’t a cure-all. If you’re primarily concerned about deeper wrinkles or folds on the lower half of the face, dermal fillers may be a better solution. Sophisticated fillers like Restylane, Radiesse, and Juvederm can be used to fill in areas where skin has lost its natural volume and support structure (e.g., laugh lines, “marionette” lines, and pronounced lines between the edges of the nose and mouth). Talk with your BOTOX provider about whether BOTOX, fillers or a combination of both will be the best way to achieve the results you’re looking for.

Where to Get BOTOX in Provo

If you’re considering BOTOX, where you go can make a big difference in terms of your results and satisfaction. At Xage Medical Spa, Provo BOTOX specialist Stuart Porter, DO, personally administers BOTOX and filler injections. In addition to cosmetic injectables, Xage Medical Spa offers a comprehensive range of aesthetic and wellness treatments designed to help clients look and feel their best at any age.

“We don’t just treat from the outside in,” says Boyer, “but also from the inside out.”

Your age is nobody’s business but your own. If you’re ready to experience the benefits of BOTOX, Xage Medical Spa is the only call you need to make.

If you’re considering plastic surgery, it is important to know that the surgeon you choose is well qualified to perform your surgery, and thus able to effectively achieve the results you are seeking.

If you’re considering plastic surgery, it is important to know that the surgeon you choose is well qualified to perform your surgery, and thus able to effectively achieve the results you are seeking. According to David Liland, M.D., not every cosmetic surgeon is equally qualified. In fact, according to the Dallas plastic surgeon, if a doctor has not been board certified there is a good chance that the doctor does not possess the necessary experience to perform cosmetic surgery that will have the results you are looking for.

It is important then to note when choosing a doctor for your cosmetic surgery that the individual has been given the title of plastic surgeon. In terms of considering a cosmetic surgery for yourself, it is essential to understand the different types of procedures a plastic surgeon in Dallas can provide. According to Dr. Liland, there are seven basic procedures of cosmetic surgery. These procedures include but are not limited to:

face lift

breast augmentation

liposuction

tummy tuck

breast lift

breast reduction

eye lift

Of these seven basic procedures, Dr. Liland states liposuction and breast augmentation are the two procedures plastic surgeons perform most frequently. When you’re considering a plastic surgeon in Dallas, you’ll first want to review evidence of his surgical skill. While this task may seem difficult to gauge, observing the doctor’s own before and after photos can be very helpful and insightful into the results you can expect to see in your own surgery. Another great option the plastic surgeon in Dallas recommends is interviewing a former patient that underwent the same cosmetic surgery you’re considering. Doing so, you will be able to have a basic idea of what your surgery will entail. These two approaches towards considering cosmetic surgery from a specific plastic surgeon can provide you with a knowledgeable overview of the doctor you are reviewing. You’ll find that Dr. Liland’s skill, compassion and personal approach make your entire consultation and surgical process a low-stress, enjoyable experience. If considering utilizing a plastic surgeon to correct an imperfection, slim down, look younger or simply feel more confident, contact Dr. Liland for a personal consultation.

If you’re concerned about sagging skin or deep wrinkles, it may be time to consider surgical options.

You’ve tried BOTOX, fillers and laser treatments, but you’re not achieving the results you’re looking for. If you’re concerned about sagging skin or deep wrinkles, it may be time to consider surgical options. But which anti-aging procedure is right for you? And how do you choose the right surgeon for your plastic surgery or face lift in Newport Beach?

As Newport Beach face lift specialist Thomas Toohey, MD, explains, while injectables like BOTOX and fillers can provide excellent results for some patients, others will benefit most from surgical intervention. For Dr. Toohey’s patients in Newport Beach, face lifts, brow lifts and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) are some of the surgical options available for patients concerned about the signs of aging.

What Is a Face Lift?

As we age, our skin loses its firmness and elasticity. The effects of gravity combined with environmental factors can cause sagging and deep wrinkles in the lower half of the face. If you’re concerned about jowls, sagging neck skin or deep folds around your nose or mouth, a face lift may be right for you.

During face lift surgery, incisions are made around the ear and within the hairline. Excess skin is removed, and the remaining skin is smoothed and tightened. When performed by a skilled surgeon, face lift surgery should leave the skin looking firm and youthful – not unnaturally taut.

What Is a Brow Lift?

Brow lift surgery is best for patients who are concerned about a sagging or furrowed forehead. These patients often complain of looking tired or angry when they’re not. Similar to the way face lift surgery smooths and tightens the lower half of the face, brow lift surgery restores a youthful, rested appearance to the upper half of the face.

What Is Blepharoplasty?

Sagging skin above and puffiness, above, below and around the eyes can create a tired, aged appearance. In some cases, drooping eyelids can even impair vision. To reduce puffiness under the eye, excess fat and skin can be surgically removed. To address sagging eyelids, a surgeon can remove excess skin and tighten the eyelids upward, restoring a patient’s full field of vision.

Choosing a Surgeon

Newport Beach face lift and cosmetic surgery expert Dr. Toohey specializes in reversing the signs of aging using state-of-the-art tools and techniques. Board-certified in plastic surgery, Dr. Toohey brings his extensive training and experience to each of his procedures, and for over a decade has maintained a 100 percent patient safety record. Valuing comfort and safety above all else, Dr. Toohey strives to provide each patient with his or her best look and the youthful confidence that comes along with it.

Today’s dermatology patients can experience smoother, more youthful looking skin without undergoing costly cosmetic surgery.

Thanks to an ever-widening array of safe, minimally invasive anti-aging treatments, today’s dermatology patients can experience smoother, more youthful looking skin without undergoing costly cosmetic surgery. Of those treatments, injectables like BOTOX and dermal fillers have become some of the most popular.

As Houston BOTOX provider Esta Kronberg, MD, explains, BOTOX and fillers can both be highly effective tools for reversing some of the first signs of aging. But they each have a unique role to play, and they can’t be used interchangeably. While BOTOX addresses wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements, fillers are best for creases caused by time, gravity and the loss of elasticity.

At Dr. Kronberg’s practice in Houston, BOTOX and fillers can be used individually or together as part of a personalized treatment plan to address a patient’s particular needs and aesthetic goals. Here, she explains the differences between the two and where to get anti-aging treatments like these in Houston.

BOTOX

BOTOX is the most commonly performed cosmetic treatment in the world. It works by relaxing the muscles beneath the skin’s surface, smoothing facial wrinkles caused by movement in the treated areas. BOTOX is most commonly used to treat areas like the forehead, frown creases between the eyes, and wrinkles around the eyes – essentially, the upper third of the face. Results with BOTOX typically last between four to five months. After treatment with BOTOX, patients usually experience its full effects within two to 10 days.

When choosing a BOTOX provider, Dr. Kronberg says, it’s important to understand that BOTOX is most potent for four hours. Since the bottles hold enough medicine for three to four treatment areas, Dr. Kronberg only performs this treatment on specific days. At the end of the day, any remaining BOTOX is thrown away. This ensures that her patients always receive freshly mixed, full-potency treatments.

Juvederm

Juvederm, a smooth dermal filler with a gel-like consistency, is most commonly used on the lower half of the face. It works by filling in areas where skin has lost its natural volume and support structure, smoothing the skin and erasing creases and folds. Juvederm is most commonly used to treat laugh lines (“parentheses” around the mouth), pronounced nasolabial folds (the creases from the sides of the nose to the mouth), and the creases that run from the corners of the mouth downward, also called “marionette” lines. One of the reasons Juvederm so popular is that it lasts so long. Results from Juvederm treatment can last between six months and a year.

Where to Get Fillers and BOTOX in Houston

If you’re concerned about visible signs of aging, an experienced dermatologist – not a technician at a medical spa – is in the best position to provide you with the beautiful, natural-looking results you want. A board-certified dermatologist in practice since 1985, Dr. Kronberg is a pioneer in the field of cosmetic dermatology. In addition to treating her patients in Houston with BOTOX and fillers, Dr. Kronberg is a national trainer for BOTOX. Always putting comfort and safety first, Dr. Kronberg personally administers all BOTOX and filler treatments to ensure the best possible outcomes for her patients.

BOTOX injections have become a very popular way to achieve a more youthful look and reduce lines and wrinkles caused by years of repetitive facial expressions.

BOTOX injections have become a very popular way to achieve a more youthful look and reduce lines and wrinkles caused by years of repetitive facial expressions. Elizabeth Goldberg, MD, of Urban Dermatology says that BOTOX can be very effective at improving the appearance of lines caused by squinting and frowning, particularly around the eye and forehead areas.

“By injecting very small amounts directly into the muscles, we relax them and create a natural, more youthful appearance,” she explains. The most common areas treated are the frown lines between the eyes, ‘crow’s feet’ around the eyes, and the forehead.

In the wrong hands, however, BOTOX can be less effective, and may even cause undesirable side effects. Dr. Goldberg explains the advantages of choosing a skilled and experienced professional to perform your BOTOX treatments and why Urban Dermatology is the best choice for BOTOX in Soho, NYC.

The Benefits of BOTOX in the Right Hands

Dr. Goldberg believes that BOTOX offers many benefits. It’s a very simple procedure, but the effects can be quite dramatic. BOTOX is fairly easy to administer and relatively painless to receive. In most cases, patients can return to most of their normal activities within 24 hours. While there is a small risk of bruising, this risk can be minimized when the procedure is performed by a very skilled practitioner.

BOTOX takes a few days to take effect, but when it does, most patients are very happy with their results. Dr. Goldberg says that her approach to BOTOX is a very natural one. That is, she isn’t interested in creating an unrealistic look. Instead, she focuses on making patients look like they did five to 10 years earlier.

“You have to be up front with patients about what they can expect,” she explains. “If I were to get rid of all of their wrinkles, they may not actually look fantastic. I want them to look more youthful, but not like they’ve had a lot of work done.”

Why Choose Urban Dermatology?

Dr. Goldberg’s medical training and years of experience working with BOTOX are what allow her to achieve the “natural, only better” look her patients are so pleased with. This expertise is one of the best reasons to choose Urban Dermatology for your BOTOX treatments.

Achieving great results with BOTOX requires an in-depth understanding of facial anatomy. Everyone is different, so a one-size-fits-all approach with BOTOX isn’t going to work for everyone. To administer BOTOX in such a way as to provide each patient with the best result, it’s important to understand the nuances of the human face.

“Someone who learns in a day to do BOTOX isn’t going to understand all of the subtleties, and the ways the facial muscles interact,” Dr. Goldberg explains. At Urban Dermatology, each patient receives highly individualized treatment with BOTOX. This ensures that after your treatment, you’ll still look like you – only younger.

For patients who are experiencing severe sagging in the upper face, Dr. Schwartz explains that brow lifts may offer the results they are after.

At Weston Center for Plastic Surgery, Inc., Barry Schwartz M.D., an experienced plastic surgeon in Ft Lauderdale, Florida meets on a regular basis with a wide array of patients who all have different concerns and are seeking alternative solutions to some of the same issues. For instance, while millions of people around the country have embraced the results that fillers and Botox provide to diminish lines and wrinkles in the face, some people want a longer lasting, more dramatic solution.

For patients who are experiencing severe sagging in the upper face, Dr. Schwartz explains that brow lifts may offer the results they are after. Basically, he says, there are several types of brow lifts, each of which offers slightly different results depending on the severity of a patient’s facial sag and personal preference.

The first option, he explains, is a full eyebrow lift, in which the incision is made across the crown of the head. Once the incision is properly made, the brow tissue is dissected from the forehead and scalp and elevated off of the bone and muscles down to the eyebrows. At that point, Dr. Schwartz says, the attachments of two muscles are detached from the skin. These are the muscles that cause you to frown, he adds. Then, a certain amount of tissue is pulled back. Through this procedure the muscle in your face known as the frontalis is interrupted so that you cannot wrinkle your forehead.

A less invasive alternative to the full brow lift, Dr. Schwartz explains, is the endoscopic brow lift. While there are different variations of this technique, he says, instead of making a full incision—as your surgeon would do in a full brow lift—minimal incisions are made and hidden in your hairline. The skin around your eyebrows is then pulled up and away from the tissues. Using the endoscope, the muscles that cause the lines and wrinkles in your forehead and in between your eyes are visualized, manipulated, cut, and maybe even removed.

A third type of brow lift that offers patients two solutions to their sagging skin is called the transblepharoplasty lateral brow lift. This procedure, Dr. Schwartz explains, is done in conjunction with upper eyelid surgery. Once the eyelid surgery has been completed, the surgeon uses the same incision to lift the outer portion of the brow through a device that is placed into the bone. Though the device will dissolve, the scar tissue that forms around it will continue to hold the eyebrow in its new position.

While each of these techniques focuses on particular issues with the eyebrows and forehead that a patient may be concerned with, Dr. Schwartz advises his patients to keep in mind that nothing is permanent. While brow lifts do offer longer lasting results that Botox—which generally lasts for up to six months—you will probably notice sagging again three to five years after your surgery. While some of the muscle in your forehead will be removed or compromised during surgery, it is ultimately a combination of aging and muscle use in the forehead that will lead to sagging again, he explains. However, to prolong the results of your procedure, Dr. Schwartz suggests intermittent treatments of fillers or Botox to reduce the appearance of any lines or wrinkles that form in the years after your brow lift.

Going under the knife isn't a requirement when it comes to having minor adjustments made on the area around the eyes and eyelids.

Going under the knife isn’t a requirement when it comes to having minor adjustments made on the area around the eyes and eyelids, according to Dr. Caroline Lomboy at Lecada Medspa. The Tampa med spa is one the premier facilities in the region, and serves clients throughout the South Florida area. At Lecada Medpa, Lomboy has developed a way to do non-surgical eyelifts with nothing more than a combination of facial fillers.

As men and women age, the area around the eye—and specifically, underneath the eyes and in the area known as the “crow’s feet”—tends to become gaunt. This is due in part to fat loss and volume loss throughout the entire face, however Lomboy says that this loss in facial volume is just a natural part of life for many people. “A lot of times, they will have an unevenness,” she explains. “For instance, [the patient] may have less volume right underneath her eye or she might have a fat globule [under the other eye], and all we need to do is even things out.”

Although many women come into Lecada Medspa complaining about having “bags” under their eyes, Lomboy says that this term is a bit of a misnomer. “A lot of people think that they have bags, and really all that is going on is a hollowing of volume loss,” she explains. “It is not really bags.” While it may look like fat is pooling below the eye, what is really going on is that volume is being lost in the area around the “bag,” so that volume loss is what is causing the hollowing.

Rather than sitting back and doing nothing, Lomboy recommends that patients get proactive about taking care of their skin as they age. One of the best ways to add volume back to the eye area without going under the knife is to use injectable facial fillers. “So that is where we would lift that volume up,” Lomboy explains. “And as far as also raising the eyebrows goes, we can put a bit of filler in to give that gull wing look to the eyebrow, as well.”

Lomboy says that physicians refer to this area as the “Magic C,” for crow’s feet. However, women who visit a med spa in Tampa should be able to reduce the effects of aging and get rid of crow’s feet after just a few simple appointments—and more importantly, without going under the knife or going under any general anesthesia.

Although Botox injections are common for women of all ages, Lomboy says that Botox itself will oftentimes not get rid of all signs of crow’s feet. If a patient already had Botox injections but still wants to lessen the look of crow’s feet, then the next step is to put in a little bit of filler to stretch out the skin for volume.

For someone who has never had any fillers before, Lomboy will usually recommend going with a temporary filler for the eye work rather than a permanent option. “If you like the look, then we can move you up to a more permanent sort of filler,” she says.

Although both permanent and temporary fillers are effective in the short term, Lomboy says that temporary fillers such as Restylane, Pearline, and Juvederm—which are known as the hyaluronic acid fillers—will have to be redone more frequently than some of the more permanent options. The longer lasting fillers, meanwhile, include the ever-popular Radiesse, which is a calcium hydroxyapatite.

Beyond these fillers, Lomboy says there are some injectable fillers that will last even longer. Artefille and Sculptra, for example, can last anywhere between two and six years. Once a patient has those fillers injected near her eyes for a non-surgical eye lift, she will not need any follow-up appointments to replenish the filler for some time.

One of the major benefits of having fillers injected into the face rather than going under the knife for an eyelift is that patients can get a similar result—with fresher, more youthful looking eyes—without having to go under any general anesthesia or suffer through long recovery periods. Lomboy says that there is no physical downtime for patients who get fillers put in around their eyes, and that women will frequently come in for the procedure during a lunch break and then return to work that afternoon.

With that said, Lomboy advises her patients to prepare to have some swelling and some bruising, and recommends that they have the procedure done at least two weeks in advance of any major social events.

Many women despair when they begin to see crow’s feet appearing in the eye area. Luckily, several techniques are available which can help alleviate this all-too-common blight on the face, according to Dr. Pooja Malik, who runs Mullica Hill Skincare, a med spa based in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. Here, she explains how these various methods all work.

When people start getting into their 20s, 30s and 40s, they may notice crow’s feet developing. They are small wrinkles at the corners of the eyes that are a direct result of aging, and they resemble the tiny feet of crows. For many, they are one of the first indicators that they are starting to get old.

We know of several ways to get rid of crow’s feet. They are Botox, ProFractional Therapy, and Skin Tyte. Specific chemical peels can also help, from a MicroLaser peel all the way to various chemical skin peels.

Botox Most Popular

The most popular treatment by far is Botox. It’s the least invasive way to treat this area and probably the easiest. The cost is reasonable and the results are fantastic. Botox relaxes the muscles that cause the lines and wrinkles to form, therefore decreasing the appearance of those fine lines and wrinkles.

Skin Tyte is a treatment based on pulsed light technology. It works as it tightens the skin by deeply heating it, but cools and protects the entire treated surface at the same time. That results in reduced pain and minimized injury to the adjacent skin, and is excellent to use on the face.

Laser Therapy

ProFractional Therapy is a gentle type of laser therapy that uses a laser micro-beam to create thousands of pinpoint channels in the skin. This leaves the surrounding areas of healthy and untreated skin untouched, which makes it also an ideal treatment for the face.

You can also do something more aggressive such as the MicroLaser Peel, especially if you have more wrinkles underneath your eyes versus the crow’s feet. There is about three to five days of downtime with this procedure, and after about the fourth or fifth day, you can apply a concealer to help with the redness.

Here, he discusses treating skin around the eyes.

Treatment of the skin around the eyes can be tricky. The skin around the eyes can be treated with a laser, but this has to be done by an experienced clinician. It is necessary to use intra-ocular eye shields to protect the eye during this treatment. The eye shields rest under the eye lids, rather than on the exterior part of the eye. If these are not used, the laser could cause blindness. Lasers such as the Titan and the Pearl (made by Cutera) can treat the skin around the eyes.

Radio frequency technology procedures such as Lipo-Ex, often used as a non-surgical alternative to traditional liposuction, can be used to treat the skin around the eyes. It results in both skin tightening and the melting of the fat pads underneath the eyes without causing blindness. I perform Lipo-Ex here at Illumination MedSpa. The treatment is designed to increase your body’s core temperature until the fat in fat cells is dissolved, but without damaging other internal organs.

In general, the use of non-invasive cosmetic procedures such as laser frequency (Lipotherme) and radio frequency (Lipo-Ex) do not yield results that are as dramatic as a face lift. But they can be used as a bridge to delay a face lift, or if done early enough, may help you avoid the need for one.

Wrinkles around the eyes can also be treated with a dermal filler, such as Juvederm or Restylane. Both procedures can add volume to lips and correct facial wrinkles, and both are effective almost immediately.
