It’s crucial that your surgeons are capable of assessing your body’s aesthetics and characteristics in order to produce the most natural-looking results possible.

The discipline of cosmetic surgery is exclusively devoted to maintaining, restoring, or enhancing a person’s normal appearance. With these goals in mind, it’s crucial that your surgeons are capable of assessing your body’s aesthetics and characteristics in order to produce the most natural-looking results possible. At Southern Surgical Arts in Chattanooga, breast reduction and other cosmetic breast surgeries are done with artistry and technique to create a fuller, natural and youthful appearing breast.

Implementing laser technology in cosmetic breast surgery

Utilizing Smart Lipo laser technology in breast reduction procedures, the Chattanooga surgeons are able to create more lift, skin firming and less scarring. As one of the few surgeons offering this cutting-edge technique in the United States, Dr. Carey Nease actively instructs other surgeons across the country in the use of Smart Lipo for this procedure.

There are many motivations for seeking a surgeon in Chattanooga for breast reduction. A patient may feel that their breasts are large to the extent that they’re self-conscious; they can also be a source of considerable discomfort, causing considerable pain to the neck and back. It may also be a health concern, as large breasts are more difficult to assess to self-evaluate for lumps or masses.

Natural results in other cosmetic procedures

The doctors at Southern Surgical Arts also make use of laser technology for a wide range of procedures; from addressing wrinkles, skin pigmentation, hair removal, acne scars, tattoo removal, or facial lifts, the Chattanooga cosmetic surgeons have a handful of ways to make their patients feel and look years younger. Laser technology can be used to supplement traditional face lift techniques or used as an incision-free alternative. Sometimes laser face lifts are a better choice than surgery, Southern Surgical Arts’ Jennifer Deal explains, and can help patients look five to ten years younger with no scars and a short recovery time.

As a part of the practice’s “Cosmetic Facelift” done with fat transfer and excess skin removal, lasers can make patients look 15 to 20 years younger and achieve a natural look that traditional plastic facelifts cannot. Laser technology has given patients options in both minimally-invasive treatments and advanced face lifts with natural and long lasting results.

Extensive and focused training in the field

It’s a common misconception that plastic and reconstructive surgeons are more qualified than cosmetic surgeons, Jennifer Deal says. In actuality, board certified cosmetic surgeons must do five times as many cosmetic surgeries in academic settings as plastic surgeons; in their plastic surgery residencies or fellowships, they’re only required to perform 55 cosmetic surgeries. According to survey data from a plastic and reconstructive surgery journal, more than 36 percent of graduating plastic surgeons felt they needed additional cosmetic surgery training. In contrast, a cosmetic surgeon will typically perform over 700 procedures during their fellowship training.

Dr. Nease and Dr. Chad Deal remain focused on cosmetic surgery; they do nothing else but cosmetic surgeries and instruct others in their industry-leading techniques. For natural and youthful results from knowledgeable and progressive surgeons, contact Southern Surgical Arts.

With a facial rejuvenation plan, the surgeons will recommend your surgical and non-surgical choices to help you appear more healthy and youthful.

The cosmetic surgeons at Southern Surgical Arts have fully embraced the latest laser technology to minimize recovery time, scarring and produce optimal results at their practice in Chattanooga. Face lift and facial rejuvenation techniques have become less invasive and produce more natural and youthful results. With over ten years and 3,600 significant facial cosmetic surgical procedures, Dr. Carey Nease and Dr. Chad Deal offer not only extensive experience; they’ve stayed on the cutting edge by employing the latest techniques and technology.

Achieving facial rejuvenation

With a facial rejuvenation plan, the surgeons will recommend your surgical and non-surgical choices to help you appear more healthy and youthful. Taking into account your aesthetic features of your entire face and neck, you might be recommended for eyelid surgery, brow or forehead lifts, or laser skin resurfacing. The Chattanooga face lift professionals might even recommend “no-incision” laser face lifts; as Jennifer Deal of Southern Surgical Arts explains, sometimes laser is a better choice than surgery.

Benefits of laser-aided surgery

Compared to the traditional “plastic” face lift, the Chattanooga surgeons’ cosmetic laser lift procedures boast a number of advantages. The technique achieves a more natural, youthful aesthetic; as opposed to a “pulled” or plastic look that used to be an ideal. The procedure itself is more pleasant; lasting only one to two hours and requiring only IV sedation and local anesthesia, general anesthesia isn’t necessary for the surgery. Deal and Nease also skillfully hide the scars, allowing clients to wear their hair up or short without exposing noticeable incisions. In addition, laser face lift surgery comes with a quicker recovery time of five to seven days and better, long-lasting results. Repeated procedures typically won’t be necessary for at least 10 to 15 years.

What surgery alone can’t accomplish

Laser technology is a great complement to the knife; but in some cases it may be ideal to opt for an incision-free cosmetic surgery by having a Laser Facelift, developed by Dr. Nease. Patients can expect to look five to ten years younger with this procedure without scars and a short recovery time. The procedure combines laser skin resurfacing, fat transfer, Smart Lipo, and the use of Botox and fillers. Dr. Nease performed a clinical study using this technique, presenting his findings at the annual conference of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Most of the participants reported that they were “highly satisfied” with the results.

With over ten lasers to support the surgeries and industry-leading surgeons, consider the cosmetic surgeons at Chattanooga’s Southern Surgical Arts.

At some point it was desirable to look like you had plastic surgery. As you might be able to guess, the opposite is true now.

Cosmetic surgery is more than just a science and a steady hand; every patient is different, and the surgeon must have an artistic eye to work with a person’s existing features to create a natural looking result. At Southern Surgical Arts in Chattanooga, their cosmetic surgeons bring a natural artistry to their craft to ultimately achieve results that look like the person they’re operating on. As Jennifer Deal explains it, clients tell them that “I still want to look like me—just younger.”

This quality is more important now than ever. At some point, Deal explains, it was desirable to look like you had plastic surgery. As you might be able to guess, the opposite is true now.

Achieving a natural look

Chattanooga Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Casey Nease, MD, explains that advancements in techniques and technology have provided the tools to produce more natural results. One major discovery was that, with aging, there is more deflation as opposed to drooping of skin. Prior to this realization, surgeons were trained to pull skin and remove fat from the face; thus producing tight, “plastic” looks that were noticeable deviations from their patient’s natural aesthetic. By instead using fat transfer and volume addition, along with skin rejuvenation lasers, the Chattanooga Cosmetic Surgeon is able to achieve outstanding results by carefully preserving their patients’ overall look; all while bringing out their beauty and youth.

Both Dr. Nease and Dr. Chad Deal, MD, have a high level of skill and technical knowledge to produce outstanding results; they are triple and double board-certified, respectively. However, it’s their pursuit of excellent customer service and satisfaction that makes Southern Surgical Arts a premier cosmetic surgery practice and an industry leader.

Building a relationship of trust

The staff members at Southern Surgical Arts are always communicating and listening to the hopes and concerns of their patients at every stage of the process. Giving clients as much information as possible is a major priority; for instance, they’re upfront about the costs of the total procedure as opposed to other facilities which may only quote their surgeon’s fees to make the deal seem more enticing. They also help patients know what results they can expect to receive and are very transparent about their work; all models that appear on their website are clients of Southern Surgical Arts, and the photographs are not retouched in Photoshop—a claim many cosmetic surgeons cannot make themselves.

The skill and professionalism of Dr. Nease and Dr. Chad Deal, MD, has earned the Chattanooga Cosmetic Surgeons wide recognition; both were voted among the nation’s top plastic and cosmetic surgeons for 2011 as determined by a major trade magazine.

Botox is a botulinum toxin being used to erase fine lines and wrinkles for men and women across the globe. However, Dr. David Turok of David Turok MD Cosmetic Surgery cautions that Botox is not a cure all for every cosmetic complaint.

Botox is a botulinum toxin being used to erase fine lines and wrinkles for men and women across the globe. However, Dr. David Turok of David Turok MD Cosmetic Surgery cautions that Botox is not a cure all for every cosmetic complaint. As of right now there are four types of botulinum toxin that are commercially available in the United States – three of which have an indication for cosmetic use. The three types of botulinum toxins are Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.

Of the three, Botox has been out the longest and it is the product most people know by name. Dysport, which is from England, has been out for just a few years. The most recent entrant into the market is Xeomin, which has been used in Germany for years but only recently received FDA approval in the U.S. In Chicago, Botox is a product that Dr. Turok has been using since it was still an experimental drug back in 1985. At that time, physicians had to get approval to use the drug, as it was for medical purposes as well as cosmetic.

Most studies seem to show that Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are fairly equal in how they are used, how long they last, and how much they spread. Although each company is trying to claim superiority, Dr. Turok believes Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all good products for men and women with a number of cosmetic complaints.

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all approved for treatment of the glabellar lines, which are the vertical frown lines between the eyes. Sometimes the glabellar lines encompass horizontal frown lines between the eyes, as well. However, Dr. Turok explains that most physicians use botulinum toxin in an off-label fashion, which is okay by the FDA.

At his practice in Chicago, Botox is used to treat horizontal forehead lines, worry lines, crow’s feet, smile lines, and bunny lines, which are the lines that develop around the sides of the nose when people smile or scrunch up their faces. Botulinum toxins can also be helpful in reducing smokers lines, which are the vertical lines around the lips. Dr. Turok says non-smokers can sometimes get these lines, as well, if they drink out of straws too frequently.

In Chicago, Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all being used to help relax tightened tendons in the neck, raise the corners of the mouth a tiny bit, and even help people who grind their teeth at night. To find out if Botox could help you, Dr. Turok recommends contacting his office and scheduling an appointment.

Many men and women can benefit from the effects of Botox, especially in their foreheads, near the lines on each eye's side and the horizontal line between the eyebrows.

At Harmony Wellness in Coral Springs, Botox expert Brandy Chappell says one of the most common questions that patients ask is how much Botox they’ll need to get the results they desire. According to Chappell, the answer is different for every person.

Nonetheless, Chappell says that most women fall into a general range of 20 units on average. That means that the average woman who walks into Harmony Wellness in Coral Springs for Botox injections will need 20 units of the substance to get the look she wants in a single area of her face. Women who want their crow’s feet taken care of may only need 20 units of Botox to do the job, but women who want their crow’s feet and bunny lines diminished at the same time will need at least 40 units, explains Chappell. Of course, these figures are just averages. Every woman will need a slightly different amount of Botox in Coral Springs, depending on the specifics of her skin. Meanwhile, men actually need more Botox to achieve the same results.

Not all areas require the same amount of Botox, either. In Coral Springs, Chappell says she frequently injects Botox in three main areas of the face: the horizontal line between the eyebrows, the crow’s feet on the sides of the eyes, and the forehead. Although these are the three most common areas for Botox injections, they are far from the only areas that can be treated.

Chappell says Botox can also be placed around the lips, where smokers often notice fine lines as they age; it can be used underneath the eyes; it can be placed in the chin to get rid of the dimply chin effect that many women complain about; and, it can be placed in the horizontal bands along the neck. Chappell can also use Botox to help men and women with gummy smiles. People who dislike the amount of gums and teeth that appear when they smile can get Botox injections to eliminate that problem entirely – and without undergoing any invasive dental work.

Once a person gets Botox injections in Coral Springs, the next question that comes up is how long the results will last. Chappell cautions that Botox is not permanent, and that people will need to continue coming in for injections once every three months to maintain the looks they have achieved. For more information on the process in general, she recommends contacting Harmony Wellness directly.

A Hermiston plastic surgeon can offer many surgical and non-surgical techniques for all patients who wants to look and feel their best.

The adage, “looks aren’t everything,” holds a lot of truth, and people shouldn’t wrap up their happiness in outer appearances. However, age, heredity, and the environment may make us a little uncomfortable about the way we look. Sometimes a little alteration to make us feel better can change our lives for the better. If you’ve ever thought about seeing a Hermiston plastic surgeon, here are a few things to consider.

What should I look for in a plastic surgeon?
Dr. Richard Flaiz, of E.N.T. Facial Plastic and Laser Center, says one important quality to look for is the Hermiston plastic surgeon’s qualifications. Is the doctor board certified in the area where the procedure will be performed? How much experience doing the type of surgery you’re looking for does she or he have? Another thing is to feel comfortable with the person you choose.

What kind of results can I expect?
Dr. Flaiz says that for many of his Rhinoplasty (surgically changing the appearance of the outside of the nose) patients, it can be life-changing. Before undertaking any surgical procedure, he offers a free consultation with his patients to discuss what their motivations are and their expectations to ensure that they are realistic. “It’s important to know what can and cannot be done.” For patients wanting a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), a Hermiston plastic surgeon can takes years off their appearance. But, the surgery cannot make a sixty-year-old eye look like a twenty-year-old one.

Is surgery the only method for improving my appearance?
The trend in facial plastic surgery, according to Dr. Flaiz, is toward less, rather than more, surgery, and this also applies to face lifts. There are many non-surgical procedures patients can opt for. When a person’s face starts to droop, this is due to volume loss. Many Hermiston plastic surgeons, Dr. Flaiz included, can offer patients derma fillers which are injections used to replace volume. Other skin improving methods Dr. Flaiz offers include microdermabrasion and fractional laser resurfacing that can minimize scars, brown spots, and blood vessels.

Having a healthy self-image is important. Sometimes, looking better can lead to feeling better, but this is not always possible to do without a little help. Before making any decisions about altering your appearance, consult a Hermiston plastic surgeon.

For more information about his services and what your options are, you can contact Dr. Flaiz at E.N.T. Facial Plastic and Laser Center.

If you or your child is experiencing difficulties, you can contact Dr. Flaiz for an appointment.

Botox doesn't have to be a scary prospect, especially when it's administered by a patient friendly doctor.

Getting Botox injections for the first time can be both exciting and terrifying. After all, not knowing what to expect can make some people somewhat scared about the possibility of discomfort or pain. Thankfully, Dr. Diane S. Ford, MD, a leading physician in Frederick, says Botox is completely safe and relatively pain free.

During her initial appointments, Dr. Ford always starts off with a consultation to determine exactly what types of results her patients want to see. Depending on the results of this consultation, Dr. Ford will inject as many – or as few – areas on the face as the patient would like. The amount of change that a patient can expect to see after an initial Botox appointment will depend on his or her comfort level.

When working with people who have never had Botox before, Dr. Ford always insists on follow-up appointments within two weeks. She says these two-week follow-up sessions are a great way for her to make sure that the patients achieved the results that they wanted. Patients who are less than satisfied with their results can consult with Dr. Ford to determine what procedures and treatments could better help them achieve the look they are going for.

As for follow up treatments, Dr. Ford says the longer a patient has been coming for Botox in Frederick, the more likely she is to come back in for follow up sessions on a regular schedule. Patients who have been coming in for five or six years will come back every few months, while some patients prefer to keep their Botox injections minimal. These patients may just pop in before big events like anniversaries, weddings, and reunions.

At her practice, Dr. Ford injects Botox only in the areas of the face that have been approved by the FDA. This means skipping the forehead and the upper face, and instead focusing on the crease in the chin, the bunny lines on the sides of the nose, and the smile lines along the temples. Dr. Ford does all her own Botox injections in Frederick, which means that patients who visit her practice do not need to worry about having their Botox injections done by a nurse or an assistant.

The Frederick Botox expert recommends that patients trust their gut and intuition when selecting the best facility for their cosmetic treatments. Choosing a particular medical spa because it offers discounts on Botox injections is a major mistake that people make. Unfortunately, this can lead to less-than-perfect results in many cases.

Skin type and age are not nearly as important in determining the results of a face lift procedure as other factors, such as the skill of the physician and the quality of the medical spa where the procedure is taking place.

Skin type and age are not nearly as important in determining the results of a face lift procedure as other factors, such as the skill of the physician and the quality of the medical spa where the procedure is taking place. According to Dr. Asher Carey of Carey Medispa in Dover, face lift candidates come in all shapes and sizes.

Specifically, Dr. Carey says that he has done face lift procedures on some younger individuals who were aging prematurely. Most of these younger patients were able to get the results they were looking for with non-surgical methods of skin tightening. These methods often involve the injection of certain fillers or Botox. When the time comes and a woman decides that she is tired of her face looking saggy or wrinkly, Dr. Carey says she should not be concerned that her age could rule her out from being considered a good candidate for some of today’s most popular face lift techniques.

Rather than focusing on age, Dr. Carey recommends that people focus on whether there are any other ways to improve their faces through re-sculpting. He says the procedures and operations that plastic surgeons are offering these days are gearing toward relocating facial fat. Facial fat naturally drifts down over the jaw as men and women age, and the best way to re-structure that fat is by bringing it back up into the face with a face lift in Dover. This process gives the cheeks a more youthful fullness, and it reshapes the face from what would basically be a square into more of an inverted cone or a heart shape.

Physicians like Dr. Carey are making fantastic strides in developing face lift techniques in Dover that can move fat around the face to bring out the cheekbones. Additionally, a surgeon may remove excess skin when necessary to achieve the look that the patient desires. This process leads to a more natural looking result than those seen with face lifts in the past, when tension was placed on the skin that caused distortion to the mouth and the eyes.

A woman getting a face lift in Dover today can expect that her result will be far more natural looking than a woman undergoing a similar procedure just one or two decades prior. By relying on facial fillers and Botox to bring youth back into the face, surgeons are eliminating the need to “pull” certain sections to achieve a taut look.

Women who want more defined cheekbones do not have to go under the knife to achieve the look they desire.

Women who want more defined cheekbones do not have to go under the knife to achieve the look they desire. According to Dr. Greta McLaren of Skin Secrets Medical, a med spa in Greenwood Village, Colorado, women who want plumper, more youthful cheeks can opt for liquid facelifts using Sculptra or fillers like Juvederm, Radiesse, Perlane, and Restylane.

At her med spa in Greenwood Village, Dr. McLaren says people generally use the term ‘liquid facelift’ to describe a non-invasive procedure in which a product is put in the face to give the patient fuller cheeks. A liquid facelift is an in-office procedure in which a physician uses either Sculptra or a filler, such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, or Perlane, to plump up the cheeks and make the cheekbones more defined. The difference between Sculptra and fillers has to do with how quickly the results from the procedures can be seen.

If a patient at Dr. McLaren’s Greenwood Village med spa wants to see results from her liquid facelift immediately, then Dr. McLaren will recommend the use of fillers like Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, and Perlane. If a patient wants a longer-lasting result, however, then Dr. McLaren is more likely to recommend Sculptra. Increasingly, patients are opting to do both, says Dr. McLaren.

The Greenwood Village med spa owner goes on to explain that Sculptra will stimulate collagen and give patients fuller cheeks for up to two years. The downside is that Sculptra does not provide an immediate result. Patients who go this route will start seeing results by their second appointment, one month from their first Sculptra injections. Dr. McLaren recommends that patients get three Sculptra injections one month apart in order to see the best, most long-lasting results.

Fillers like Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, and Perlane may not last as long as Sculptra, but their results are immediate. Dr. McLaren works with many patients who are now choosing to create fuller cheekbones by using both Sculptra and fillers. By using these products together, patients are able to get the immediate results they want, as well as the lasting results they desire. This presents an excellent opportunity for patients to get the best of both worlds.

As a leading expert on liquid facelifts in Greenwood Village, Dr. McLaren says that every patient has unique needs and unique facial structures that must be analyzed prior to undergoing this type of treatment. She recommends that women come into her office for consultation appointments to find out more.

Is a facelift right for you? Or can you get the results you want from laser treatments?

If you’re frustrated by facial wrinkles and other signs of aging, there is no shortage of treatment options – both surgical and non-surgical – available for you to choose from. Is a facelift right for you? Or can you get the results you want from laser treatments?

According to David Globerman, MD, a plastic surgeon in Fort Lauderdale, facelift surgery is best for those patients who’ve exhausted their non-surgical options and are looking for a more dramatic result.

Facelift vs. Laser Skin Care: What’s the Difference?

Medical professionals today can offer a wide variety of effective anti-aging treatments thanks, in part, to advancements in laser technology. Some of the high-tech options available include laser skin rejuvenation, laser skin tightening and laser skin resurfacing. While these procedures can produce very good results for many patients, they are somewhat limited in terms of what they can accomplish.

Although laser skin treatments can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines, improve overall skin tone, and create a tightening effect, they are not cure-alls, and they cannot address some of the more noticeable signs of aging – like the sagging skin, jowls and pronounced folds that are caused by the skin’s loss of elasticity as we age.

“Facelift surgery,” Dr. Globerman explains, “is for those wrinkles that are too big to be effectively addressed with laser treatments or other non-surgical procedures. If you have skin that hangs down, no amount of laser treatment is going to tighten it up.”

A facelift (also called rhytidectomy) can remove some of the most dramatic signs of aging, including wrinkling and lines on your neck and face. The procedure is done by removing certain fatty areas around the facial area, and then tightening muscles directly beneath the skin.

Which procedure is right for you? That’s best decided in consultation with your doctor, says Dr. Globerman. Depending on the condition of your skin and your aesthetic goals, your doctor will recommend a treatment plan, either surgical or non-surgical, to help you get the results you’re looking for.

Your Facelift in Fort Lauderdale

Ready to experience a more youthful-looking you? If you’re looking for a Fort Lauderdale facelift specialist, Dr. Globerman is an excellent choice. With over 23 years of experience in the field of aesthetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Globerman considers patient safety priority number one and is proud to be recognized as a top specialist for facial rejuvenation, natural breast enhancement, tummy tucks, body sculpting and virtually all forms of aesthetic plastic surgery.

At Dr. Globerman’s practice in Fort Lauderdale, facelift surgery is just one of the ways in which patients can be helped to look and feel their best at any age. His experience and skill combined allow him to achieve beautiful, natural-looking results for his patients.
