Often, she says, clients come to her when conventional medicine has failed…

Naturopathic medicine is unique in that it is invaluable for its ability to effectively treat the underlying causes of pain or disease. Many patients come to Glastonbury Naturopathic Center in search of other options, sometimes after finding that conventional medicine unable was unable to offer them satisfactory treatment.

Naturopathic medicine is something that can treat all sorts of conditions. They range from allergies to anxiety to digestive problems. The main ones we see include:

  • Anxiety, stress, depression and insomnia
  • Arthritis of all kinds
  • Joint pain, which includes back pain, knee pain and foot pain
  • Digestive issues such as IBS, all sorts of colitis, constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating and Candida
  • Boosting the immune system

People who have chronic sinus infections or get colds and the flu all the time come to us fairly often. We work with them by boosting their immune systems so that they don’t get chronic respiratory illnesses as often as they used to in the past. For many people, having a healthy immune system can give them a whole new lease on life.

Other Syndromes Treated

I also have a large number of people who come to me with diabetes and metabolic syndromes. I treat a lot of people with adult onset diabetes and help them regain control of their metabolic systems. I treat Type I insulin-dependent diabetics as well, but the majority are the adult-onset clients who do not require insulin in the beginning.

We also treat adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, women’s health issues such as infertility, menstrual problems such as PMS and other irregularities, and menopausal women. Then there are the odd things we treat, such as people with eczema, psoriasis and auto-immune illnesses.

Helpful for Everyone

Anybody who has a problem can come to us. The most interesting thing is that I do have a lot of people who are becoming aware of preventive medicine, which means that a lot of people are coming to me for wellness. They don’t have specific conditions or ailments that need to be treated, they just want to stay well and prevent illness.

That is what I am really excited about more than anything else in my day-to-day practice. People are finally beginning to understand that they can take steps to improve their health and wellness, and I’m happy to help them do it.
