How Much Does Lipo Ex Cost?

Before starting a fat reduction treatment like Lipo Ex, it is a good idea to find out how much the entire process is going to cost, suggests Dr. Alexandra Lambrou, a board certified practitioner who has been in practice for more than 25 years, and who currently serves as medical director for Sculpt Medical Spa in Chicago. Rarely is it a good idea for a patient to pay for just one Lipo Ex office visit, Lambrou explains, because it usually takes between eight and 12 sessions before you are able to achieve the end result of visibly reduced cellulite and diminished fat.

Unlike traditional liposuction procedures, which typically include just one surgical appointment, patients undergoing Lipo Ex will need to make multiple appointments in order to attain the look they want to achieve. Currently, Sculpt Medical Spa is the exclusive provider of Lipo Ex technology to clients throughout the Midwest region. Because of this, Lambrou says that a lot of people aren’t sure what to expect or how much the treatments are going to cost. Lambrou says Sculpt Medical Spa favors all-inclusive pricing rather than a la carte. “Especially since patients aren’t going to start seeing the best results until halfway into the treatments,” she says, “we don’t want people to start by buying just one or two sessions and then quit after that because they aren’t seeing immediate results.”

Instead, Lambrou says Sculpt Medical Spa is one of the many Lipo Ex providers that encourages patients to buy treatment packages rather than individual sessions. One package includes an average of eight sessions and costs around $2,700. “That’s on the low end of the number of treatments that a patient can expect to need before seeing the final results,” she explains.

On the higher end, Lambrou says patients interested in shrinking fat and diminishing cellulite in denser areas of the body, such as the thighs or hips, may need as many as 12 to 14 treatments to achieve the results they’ve been looking for. A package of 12 to 14 sessions will usually cost around $5,000 at Sculpt Medical Spa. “We try to make sure our prices are significantly cheaper than what it would cost to undergo traditional liposuction at a plastic surgeon’s office,” she says.

Of course, there will always be cut-rate physicians who claim to offer liposuction surgery for lower prices than elsewhere. But Lambrou wonders, “Is someone who’s offering cut-rate prices really the doctor you’d want to go to for liposuction?”  Experienced cosmetic surgeons usually charge a bit more for procedures because they know they don’t need to compete financially—they have got the experience and reputation to bring clients into their office. And, a physician who offers prices on a cosmetic procedure that are a lot lower than others in the same area is probably one to avoid, Lambrou explains. “There are always going to be plastic surgeons who are going to be competitive with pricing, but any experienced plastic surgeon whose schedule is full of clients isn’t going to need to compete financially in order to get more patients.”

When comparing the cost of liposuction to Lipo Ex directly, Lambrou says Lipo Ex is almost always the more cost effective option. Most qualified cosmetic surgeons in the Chicago area are currently charging an average of $10,000 to $15,000 for liposuction procedures, and the prices can climb even higher for some big-name plastic surgeons. Therefore, choosing Lipo Ex instead of traditional liposuction can save patients anywhere from $8,000 to $10,000, or even more.

Clients living in areas of the country besides Chicago may need to pay more for Lipo Ex, Lambrou explains, because pricing for these types of procedures is often dependent on the geographic market. Patients looking to undergo Lipo Ex in places such as Southern California and other more “developed” markets may end up spending more to have the procedure done, since average prices for cosmetic procedures in those areas tend to be higher than prices in the Midwest states like Illinois. “So that is a real benefit to our patients in Chicago, since they’re usually paying less for the same procedure than someone getting it done in Los Angeles or another market,” Lambrou says.
