Organic Diets For Your Skin

Dr. Gregg D. Rubinstein, a chiropractor at 57th Street Chiropractic in New York City, explains why it is important that everything you put in and even on your body is natural.
Proper diet is important for your overall health. If you take chemicals into your body that are toxic, you add stress to your nervous system because now your body has to spend all of its energy trying to break down these toxic elements. That is why we recommend people eat organic food. Because there is no pesticides, fungicides and no inorganic fertilizers in those that are toxic to the body. To be healthy, follow this general rule of thumb: If you cannot take a handful of it and shove it in your mouth, you should not be putting it in your body or putting it on your skin.
Think about how absorbent your skin is: A woman can put a little patch on her arm and she won’t get pregnant for a whole month. So if you put sunblock, makeup, bug spray and other chemicals on your body, those get absorbed through the skin too. Don’t you think those toxins have an effect on your body? Then your body has to use up all of its energy trying to break down those toxins to keep you healthy. That is taking nerve energy away from your normal body function – and that can weaken you.
That is why in organic food you don’t have any of those toxins. There are over 250 food additives that the FDA allows manufacturers to put in your food that they don’t even have to list on the package. Then you look at all the crap that they do print on the package (which you can barely read, forget understand what it is) and you have an idea of how much garbage you actually take into your body.
Your diet is really important for those reasons. Its not just about not wanting to eat too much fat. You have to watch for toxins you might take in as well. It is because of all these toxic chemicals that so many people have cancer and are getting so sick all of the time.
While it would be best to avoid these toxins your whole life, the innate intelligence of your kidney and your liver knows how to break down many of these toxins. When you go out and you get slamming drunk, your body starts to break down that alcohol. Whether you are 2 years old or 10 years old or 100 years old, your body knows how to do that. How efficiently it does that really depends on how much you abuse the system. So people who are raving drunks have liver hypertrophy and get liver disease because their liver cant handle it because they are constantly abusing their liver. That constant abuse is what wears it out.
If you look at Okinawan people near Japan, they have little heart disease because of their diet and relatively low level of stress. People from Okinawa that move to the US start to assume the same risk of heart disease and heart attack and stress-related illness as the people who live here. You must keep and maintain a healthy diet that avoids toxins in order for your body to function at its prime.
