Skin Care For Men
By Kim Dahle | Published on April 13, 2010 | 0 Comments
Although there are always exceptions to the rule, men, compared to women, don’t tend to spend a lot of time dealing with matters of personal care. While it’s perfectly natural to prefer a quick and easy skin care routine, every man should use certain skin care essentials on a regular daily basis. Kim Dahle is a seasoned skin care consultant at Florida’s Natura Medspa & Laser Center, a full-service medical spa offering everything from laser hair removal to skin tightening to weight loss assistance, and according to her, any man remotely concerned about the way he looks needs to invest in the following:
Sunscreen
When it comes to sun-damaged skin, men tend to fall victim more so than their female counterparts. The reason for this is simple: Men don’t tend to use sunscreen as often as women do. Although some sunscreens might be scented in a way that emanates a bit of a feminine vibe, plenty of sunscreens are geared towards men. If your toiletry collection doesn’t currently include a sunscreen that you’re actually willing to use, then visit a local medical spa and ask a skin care consultant for a recommendation. This is especially important if you work outside or tend to spend a lot of time outdoors.
Cleanser
Although most men don’t experience hormonal fluctuations like women (which can often times be the source of unwanted breakouts), it’s still important that you get your hands on a good cleanser that will do its job without drying out your skin. In fact, you should ask a medical spa professional to recommend a cleanser that is effective yet gentle.
Shaving cream
Finding the right type of shaving cream can be easier said than done. Most men don’t realize that the beard area can actually be rather sensitive. If yours tends to break out or get irritated often, then you’ll need to find a gentle shaving cream. In fact, your best bet is to find a shaving cream that contains moisturizing properties to smooth out the skin and keep it looking healthy.
Remember, no rule says that skin care can’t be quick and simple. By equipping yourself with the proper essentials, you can do your part to make personal maintenance a snap.
