Juvederm injectable gel is a dermal filler that addresses wrinkles and folds. It’s an excellent treatment option for lip enhancement, deep folds, facial lines, wrinkle correction, lip volume augmentation, shaping facial contours (such as cheeks and chin correcting), and smile lines (correcting thin, superficial lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead).
The main ingredient in Juvederm is hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in all mammals that helps hydrate and add volume to your skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement, as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair.
Juvederm is the only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler that lasts up to one year. Our unique manufacturing process provides a high concentration of hyaluronic acid for long-lasting results. It also helps create a smooth-consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. All other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers currently on the market are made of granular-consistency gels.
Juvederm injectable gel is also the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven to be safe and effective in people of color. Studies showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
The Juvederm treatment takes about an hour and is non-invasive and not painful. You will receive either a nerve block (dental block) or topical local anesthesia to relieve the pain during the procedure.
The results of Juvederm are immediate and last anywhere from six to 12 months. You walk out the door and people won’t even know that there’s a little swelling.
